Omega-3 for heart patientsThe National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has published guidelines advising doctors to prescribe omega-3 fish oils for heart attack sufferers with the aim of reducing the number of cardiac deaths. Heart disease and related complications are the UK’s biggest killer, leading to over 103,000 deaths a year. There is compelling evidence suggesting that higher consumption of omega-3 fatty acids increases survival rates following a heart attack by up to 43%. The benefits of consuming high doses of omega-3 for cardiovascular health include:
The guidelines specify the type of omega-3 that is suitable, namely a purified concentration of omega-3 ethyl esters for optimum bioavailability in the body. All of Vibrant Energetics’ products contain highly purified concentrations of the ethyl-EPA fatty acid; furthermore the molecular distillation process removes all traces of impurities including Mercury, PCBs, the fat-soluble Vitamin A, as well as another fatty acid, DHA, which can inhibit the beneficial effects of EPA.
